Early Morning Jump Start

Today certainly seemed shorter yet it wasn't any less jammed packed. The early wake up call really hits you the second day but driving in to get the Health Risk Assessment each summer always has me awake; not entirely a fan of getting my blood drawn but its neat to see the results.

After the sun had risen, I was in the first group to get re-certified in Basic Life Support. Even though I've seen this course through Lifeguarding programs and other MedEx tiers, the team that teaches us each year is always informative and make the certification videos seem to fly by. Hearing health care professionals give their own experiences alongside the videos always does put what you're doing into perspective. It won't, however, make the dummies ever seem less creepy to me though.

Lunch came and went and the afternoon passed by quickly as my group transitioned into the research portion of the day for our ethics presentation. What made the afternoon fun, though, was that in my room there were a pair of GHS medical students who gladly answered any of our questions wether it was about presentations or medical school. Talking to them always makes me excited, not scared, for medical school, especially when I see how much they enjoy it.
